Spike Raises Over $20,000 For Veterans Charity Soldier On

This March, we are Marching On to support Soldier On's life-saving mental health services to help our brave veterans and their families.

Spike is thrilled to continue our support of Soldier On Australia this year in their March On Challenge.

This March, our team has pledged to walk, run, swim, or ride 96km - The distance of the Kokoda Track, to honour the bravery and sacrifices of our veterans and their families.

By participating in this challenge, we hope to raise vital funds to aid our veteran community in accessing mental health services and extend our commitment to Soldier On’s life-saving services.

If you wish to support our fundraising efforts, you can make a donation directly to Soldier On, or spread awareness of our commitment by sharing the below link with your network.

About Soldier On

Soldier On was established in 2012 by John Bale, Dr Danielle Clout, and Cavin Wilson in response to the tragic death of their friend in Afghanistan. The event brought home the physical and psychological injuries suffered by defence force personnel in the line of duty and upon returning home. together they sought to provide holistic support to members of the Australian Defence Force and their families and formed Soldier On to address the huge gap in veteran support across Australia.

The transition from military to civilian life can present significant challenges, including social isolation, higher susceptibility to anxiety disorders and PTSD, and difficulties with changing workplaces, structures, and relationship breakdowns. Additionally, veterans face a suicide risk up to 2.2 times greater than that of the general population. Soldier On Australia aims to help veterans and their families thrive by offering a holistic model of support that includes health and wellbeing programs, employment support, education support programs, and participation in social connection activities.
